404 pages of 404s.

That is the plan: one collection of 404 different 404 pages, each built around one idea. 150 are here. The other 254 can come from designers and developers who want to add one.

  1. Build one 404 page as a single HTML file with its CSS inside. Follow the design rules.
  2. Publish it in your own public GitHub repository under the MIT license.
  3. Sign in with GitHub and send the repository link. Sign-in reads your public profile only; it has no access to your repositories.
  4. We review it. Accepted designs are published here in all four formats, with your name and GitHub profile on the design page.

The submission form is being built. Until it opens, you can prepare your repository.

How to contribute

A good 404 page apologizes.
No404 finds the page they wanted.

No404 matches each broken URL to the closest live page in your sitemap and sends the visitor there. It also lists the broken links that still get visits and whether they came from an ad or from Google.
Works as a WordPress plugin, Laravel and Node.js packages or a small snippet. The free plan needs no card.
